Among the just-announced acts are Andrew WK, Basement, Boy Harsher, The Dwarves, Moon King, Mothers, Palm, Porches, Pure Bathing Culture, Shame, and Tancred. SXSW Music Festival happens March 12 – 18 in Austin, TX.

Montreal band Anemone took their name from a Brian Jonestown Massacre song, and like it, they make melodic psych pop. Led by songwriter Chloé Soldevila, the quintet also features a couple members of Elephant Stone, and there’s a bit of sun-dappled baroque in the arrangements.

Mild High Club just released that collaborative album with King Gizzard & The Lizard, Sketches of Brunswick East. The mellow Californians’ laid back style is the peanut butter to King Gizzard’s hyperactive chocolate, making for a tasty combo

The 2016 edition of M for Montreal is coming up later this month (November 16 – 19) and the full lineup has been released and includes Spencer Krug’s Moonface, Baauer, Martha Wainwright, Elephant Stone, Nobunny, The Appleseed Cast, Leif Vollebekk, Tasseomancy and more.
