Psych rock icon and 13th Floor Elevators frontman Roky Erickson sadly passed away at the age of 71 on Friday (5/31), and his fellow artists have taken to social media to pay tribute to the hugely influential musician.

”What it’s NOT going to be,” Cedric Bixler-Zavala says of a potential reunion of The Mars Volta, ”is your ‘fav member lineup’ playing their ‘classic records’ in full etc. Maybe we’ll play old shit, who knows how we feel.”

Beto O’Rourke, who’s battling Ted Cruz in the Texas Senate race, has also shared a rarity by his old punk band Foss, who counted At the Drive In’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala as a member.

At the Drive In’s Cedric Bixler Zavala responded to Masterson’s denial, saying, “he’s had about 15 years to make this statement. Every time he had a chance he laughed at the victims. He is surrounded by enablers.”

Cedric Bixler Zavala called “Incurably Innocent” “a song about sexual abuse and being able to finally speak out.” Specifically, its lyrics relate to his wife, Chrissie Carnell Bixler’s alleged rape by Danny Masterson.

Bixler’s husband, At the Drive In and The Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler Zavala, has also commented on Twitter, mentioning that The Church of Scientology has been harassing his family since his wife pressed charges last year.

A tribute show to Brainiac is happening in NYC, and footage will be used in the upcoming documentary on the band.
