David Ferguson a veteran producer who’s worked with Johnny Cash, John Prine, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Kurt Vile, Tyler Childers, and many others, and now he’s set to release his own album on Fat Possum.

Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy ‘Superwolves‘, their years-in-the-making follow-up to 2005’s ‘Superwolf.‘ Their list of inspirations includes Slint, Superiority Burger, and more.

“John Prine was my hero for a long time when he came into the butcher shoppe to recut one of his deepest classics with me,” recalls Kurt. “Man, I was floating and flying and i couldn’t hear anything he told me.” The EP’s out in October.

The lineup has been announced for Thursday’s “Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine” and also includes Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Jim James, Bill Murray, Iris DeMent, and lots more.

Like its 2017 predecessor, it was co-produced by Sturgill Simpson.
