Two legendary heavy acts unite for a tour this summer.

Glenn was bassist and co-frontman of Deep Purple on 1974’s Burn and Stormbringer and 1975’s Come Taste the Band (along with David Coverdale, who later formed Whitesnake), and his voice was no small part of what made that era so great and influential.

Two bands that are staples of classic rock radio but also highly influential on heavy metal, Deep Purple and Alice Cooper, are currently on a co-headlining tour with support from blues rock veterans The Edgar Winter Band. Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult are two of heavy metal’s most legendary, influential bands, but does anybody realize it? Metal supergroup Metal Allgiance (who now include Bumblefoot in place of Megadeth’s David Ellefson, plus members of Testament, Death Angel, and more) will play Deep Purple’s classic live album ‘Made In Tokyo’ in full in Brooklyn, ahead of an appearance at British festival Bloodstock.

As you may know, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony happens at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this Friday (4/8).
