We’re always looking for new music documentaries to watch. Here are eight, ranging from The Go-Go’s to Taylor Swift, to the early days of the ’80s Bay Area thrash scene, the ’60s/’70s Laurel Canyon folk scene, and more.

Sonic Youth, Einstürzende Neubauten, The Minutemen, Meat Puppets and more feature in this documentary about a creative collective who put on wild, very DIY shows in the California desert in the mid-’80s.

Finding it difficult to put on punk shows in mid-’80s LA without getting hassled by the man, a group of young people took to the desert where they could be free to do what they wanted to do. Watch an exclusive clip featuring Meat Puppets’ Kirk Kirkwood.
