Independent label Mexican Summer is celebrating its 10th anniversary and, like they did for their fifth anniversary, are throwing a big party at Pioneer Works w/ Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Arp, Pill, Drugdealer, Tonstartssbandht, FJ McMahon and Quilt, plus Jess Williamson, Allah-Las, Part Time, Ariel Pink , and more.

The current lineup of the group includes Reine Fiske of Dungen and The Amazing, and you can listen to their 2017 album as well.

Norway’s Øya Festival is happening now through Saturday (8/11) and if you can’t make it in person, select performances will be streaming live, including St. Vincent, Fever Ray, Grizzly Bear, Tangerine Dream, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Neneh Cherry, Lindstrøm, Chelsea Wolfe, Dungen, and more.

The album will be released almost exactly one year after news came that Melody Prochet had suffered a “serious accident” that caused her album and tour (both due last fall) to be indefinitely postponed. She’s on the mend.

You may recall that Dungen’s Gustav Ejstes and Reine Fiske, and Woods’ Jeremy Earl and Jarvis Tavenier were the Recording Artists in Residence at the 2017 edition of Marfa Myths festival. The fruits of that collaboration will be released an 7-song 12″ as part of Mexican Summer’s “Myths” series…
