‘Eyes Have Brightened’ debuts as part of Parquet Courts’ big show at Knockdown Center and will be performed a few more times in December.

Called “Knock! Knock! Down! Down!” and will feature sets by the band, as well as X_____X (Craig Bell of Rocket From The Tombs), Flasher, and more to be announced. There will also be a sound installation by Eaters, a gallery of Andrew Savage’s artwork, films by Joey Pizza Slice, a Dull Tools shop, and other special pop-ups to be named later.

Omni’s debut album is the kind of catchy, spiky, minimal postpunk that favorably recalls stuff like Wire’s Chair’s Missing, Postcard-era Orange Juice, or Spoon’s A Series of Sneaks. The band includes former members of Deerhunter and Carnivores.

The title track from Parquet Courts’ new album Human Performance, is one of the most affecting tracks the band have ever done, with singer Andrew Savage letting some raw emotions through their often ironic shell. If you ever thought, “I like this but I wish it sounded more like industrial band Front 242” you are in luck.

Parquet Courts also had members of PC Worship and Eaters for their augmented ‘Late Show’ performance.

“Human Performance” will also be released as a 12″ single with remixes by Future Punx and Eaters.
