The Blow will be on tour with EMA this fall.

EMA has released another song off of her upcoming album Exile In The Outer Ring (due 8/25 via City Slang). This one’s called “Down And Out” and…

The festival begins this Thursday (5/18) and runs through June 8, also including Marc Ribot, Steve Gunn, Gyan Riley, Trixie Whitley, Ava Mendoza, Indian slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, and more.

EMA says: “This is for my people in the middle country. I don’t look down on, or laugh at, serious issues such as poverty or drug problems. I believe your situations are real, your pain is real. I’m not here to ridicule or dismiss you. But as a person who came from heartland america, I also believe that there is another way than directing your anger at those who often have less power than you.”

“Matador won’t be putting it out. It’s too political (which I think especially now music SHOULD be) and the sound is not exactly mainstream,” EMA wrote. It’ll be out on City Slang worldwide.

The song is the latest in the ‘Our First 100 Days’ protest series.
