Since not much new music is out this holiday week, I’m taking a break from the Five Notable Releases of the Week column to catch up on five great 2018 albums we haven’t talked much (or at all) about this year.

The new album also features a cover of AC/DC’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Singer” and will be out in November.

Kevin Morby, The Residents, Acid Mothers Temple, Anna & Elizabeth, and…David Duchovny (singing) are among the Sunday show options.

The show is part of Australia’s VIVD LIVE festival at the Sydney Opera House, and she’ll be performing the album in full for the first time backed by her original collaborators on the record (Dirty Three members Jim White and Mick Turner).

”Day In America,” which takes on the recent Florida shooting, is from Mark’s upcoming collaborative album with Donny McCaslin (David Bowie’s ‘Blackstar’) and Jim White (The Dirty Three). He’s also releasing a Sun Kil Moon album and an album under his own name.

The 2018 lineup was revealed today featuring headliners Vampire Weekend (their first show in four years) and St. Vincent, plus Feist, Yo La Tengo, Ezra Furman, Jeff Tweedy, John Cale, Oh Sees, Gruff Rhys, Fat White Family, Julia Holter, Destroyer, Big Thief, Aldous Harding, Hookworms, Omar Souleyman, Mulatu Astatke, Protomartyr, Japanese Breakfast, Gwenno, and lots more.
