Daniel Johnstons’s first 14 releases have been remastered from the original source tapes by Kramer and 100% of profits go to the Daniel Johnston Estate “for the sole purpose of preserving Daniel’s musical and artistic legacy.”

This is the first US vinyl pressing of this 2000 recording, which contains two songs that appear on no other Daniel Johnston release.

Originally released in 2006, ‘I Killed the Monster‘ also features Jeffrey Lewis, Kimya Dawson, Dot Allison and more, and will be out on vinyl on February 10 via Shimmy-Disc.

The original album was produced by Hal Willner and features Tim Robbins, Bill Frisell, Dr John and more. ”He would have loved to hold one of these LP’s in his hands,” says Kramer, who remastered the LP for vinyl. “He’d have loved the smell of it, too.“

Now titled ‘The History of Dogs Revisited,‘ the album features new artwork, is pressed on beer-colored vinyl and includes two previously unreleased tracks from the original sessions.
