Penderecki’s works have been used in such films as The Exorcist, The Shining, Wild at Heart, Shutter Island and, recently, his haunting, famous composition “Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima” was used memorably in the eighth episode of Twin Peaks: The Return. He has also collaborated with Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Portishead’s Beth Gibbons.
