The weather forecast may be dreary for the unofficial start of summer, but there are always good shows. Memorial Day Weekend in NYC boasts Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Pixies, Alabama Shakes and more.
LCD Soundsystem, G-Eazy and Major Lazer are this year's headliners, and the lineup also includes Run the Jewels, Die Antwoord, Holy Ghost!, RL Grime, Cashmere Cat, Mount Kimbie, Leon Vynehall, and lots more. The fest takes place in June at Bethel Woods, NY.
"Attempting to look at the bright side of a year that I am grateful is ending, 2016 has been a very forward year for electronic music," Says The Range's James Hinton. "For the first time in a while I think you can argue that there is no major genre collusion and that has led to some new and interesting risks being taken which feels fresh and exciting to me."
Like they do every year, Pitchfork uses the mid-year period to put out their list of Overlooked Albums of the year. The 2016 list includes Pinegrove, YG, KING, Steve Gunn, Stereolab offshoot Cavern of Anti-Matter, Kaytranada, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
As always, there's a ton of good electronic music to experience live in NYC, including two great shows tonight (2/26). We don't get a chance to post about all of it, so here's a roundup of some good upcoming shows that we haven't talked about yet...
