BAM has announced their new season, which they’ve titled ”Yours Theirs Ours” and features ”16 engagements by dynamic artists across the artistic spectrum” that runs March 23—June 30.

Ecstatic Music, which pairs modern classical with pop and rock artists for one-of-a-kind collaborations, has expanded from being more of a concentrated festival running January to April, to a longer series with events happening throughout the year….

Tonight’s NYC shows include Dinosaur Jr (night 2), The Hold Steady (night 2), Stevie Nicks/Pretenders, Foxygen, Andra Day, Thalia Zedek’s new band E, Savak, and more.

The December NYC show also includes songs by Son Lux, Missy Mazzoli and Caroline Shaw. In April, they play Hamburg with Anohni.

Brooklyn composer/pianist Missy Mazzoli, who’s responsible for the 2012 opera Song from the Uproar (among other works), is releasing a new album with her ensemble Victoire, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, and three of the Roomful of Teeth vocalists (who she’s worked with before) called Vespers for a New Dark Age on March 31 via New Amsterdam Records…

BAM has announced the 2013 Next Wave Festival which runs from September 17 – December 22. The line-up features a diverse range of programming including opera, theater, music and dance…

As mentioned briefly, the Original Cast Recording of Missy Mazzoli‘s opera, Song from the Uproar: The Lives and Deaths of Isabelle Eberhardt, is out next week on New Amsterdam Records (whose Red Hook offices took a beating last week from Hurricane Sandy)…
