”When I arrived at my bar after being at the hospital with my son I found out the bands had played. The next day I was asked to do an interview along with the promoter to discuss what happened. Unfortunately, the way I phrased it in the interview made it sound like I allowed them to play. To be clear, I DID NOT authorize the bands in question to play.”

Dingbatz owner Fred Barnes said, ”being an owner of the club you look at it as freedom of speech. When does the censorship issue come in and where does it escalate from here?”

Dropdead at Europa (more by Keith Marlowe) Chaos in Tejas have announced another round of bands for their 2012 shindig (first round here), including rare appearances from legendary post-hardcore band Moss Icon (a one-time only reunion), as well as Japan’s Reality Crisis and Skizophrenia (their only US dates), and repeat offenders/favorites like Dropdead, Municipal Waste, Midnight, Ares Kingdom, Puerto Rico Flowers, Xeno & Oaklander, Thou, the Rival Mob, Boston Strangler, Crazy Spirit, Brain Killer, Power Trip, Wiccans (who just played one of the final shows at Emo’s), and many many others…

Volume 8 of the incredible Chaos in Tejas will go down on May 31st through June 3rd in Austin, Texas, and this year and much like last, its chock full of incredible rare appearances from across the punk, crust, indie, and metal world…
