Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Steve Ferrone of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played together for the first time since Petty’s death, including ”I Won’t Back Down” with Stills on vocals. There were also collabs from Stills & Neil, Neil & Patti, Patti & The Heartbreakers, Beck & The Heartbreakers, and more.

The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival is coming up soon (April 18-29) in New York City and they’ve added a few more screenings and events to the lineup….

It features Patti Smith, Aldous Harding, The Fall, Jimi Hendrix, Weyes Blood, Howlin’ Wolf, David Byrne, David Bowie, and more.

Our first week at Mondays 10 PM featured Bowie covers from Nirvana, Warpaint, TV on the Radio, The Cure, and Bauhaus, plus new songs from Iceage, US Girls, Chvrches, Hinds, and more.

The lineup includes musical director Philip Glass, plus Angel Olsen, Carly Simon, Blood Orange, Stephin Merritt, Patti Smith, and more.

Patti Smith and longtime bandmates Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan will “present an evening of words and music” in NYC to celebrate the release of Spy of the First Person, the final book by Sam Shepard, who passed away earlier this year.

The Carnegie Hall show saw Joan Baez covering Antony, Talib Kweli playing “Get By” with Flea while Joan Baez danced on stage, Michael Stipe covering The Velvet Underground, and the whole lineup playing Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power” together…

Patti Smith has been having a busy past few days in NYC. She played the Mother! premiere at Radio City and then played Central Park the next day with surprise guest Michael Stipe. She’s got another event in NYC tonight…

Patti, who was joined by her band and children Jesse Paris and Jackson, celebrated the birthday of her late husband, Fred “Sonic” Smith, and paid tribute to Grant Hart and Sam Shepard at this joyous show.
