Finnish funeral/death doom vets Shape of Despair are playing some rare US shows this year, and they’re also playing the stacked Czech festival Brutal Assault.

Bay Area thrash vets are returning to perform their classic 1988 debut in full in Oakland this weekend, and they have more reunion shows planned for after that… Also: an update to the upcoming Death Angel/Overkill tour.

Anthrax, Testament, Armored Saint, Corrosion Of Conformity, DevilDriver, John 5, Doro, Beasto Blanco, Metal Church, and “heavy metal mariachi band” Metalachi will set sail on Megadeth’s inaugural “Megacruise” festival at sea.

The NYC show is with Tombs, Mirrors for Psychic Warfare (Sanford Parker + Neurosis’ Scott Kelly), and the newly-added Body Stuff.

Slayer’s ”final” tour hit Jones Beach with some truly incredible openers.

The lineup also includes Testament (celebrating 1988’s The New Order and 1999’s The Gathering), Pig Destroyer, YOB, Power Trip, and more.
