The emo floodgates opened in 2002. In honor of their 20th anniversaries, this edition of ‘In Defense of the Genre’ looks at the best emo and post-hardcore albums from that year.

Chris Simpson and Jeremy Gomez’s post-Mineral band The Gloria Record will give their debut full-length a long-awaited vinyl reissue with bonus tracks. You can hear one bonus track now, and read what Chris had to say about the record…
