Stephin Merritt has announced a four-show residency at NYC’s Symphony Space this fall dubbed ”From 69 to 50: A Stephin Merritt/Magnetic Fields Residency” with music spanning his whole career and most of his many groups.

The Magnetic Fields’ Stephin Merritt has composed a score to Tod Browning’s 1925 silent film ’The Unholy Three,’ which stars Lon Chaney, and he’ll be performing it with the film at NYC’s Town Hall on Saturday, May 18. For the live score, he’ll be joined by Lemony Snicket author Daniel Handler on accordion and Pinky Weitzman on viola.
