The Messthetics, the instrumental trio made up of Fugazi’s rhythm section (Brendan Canty and Joe Lally) and experimental/jazz guitarist Anthony Pirog, will release their second album, ’Anthropocosmic Nest’ in September via Dischord.

The 2019 edition of Raleigh, NC’s Hopscotch Festival happens Sept. 5-7 at venues all over the city and they’ve just announced the lineup, including the first announced Sleater-Kinney show of 2019.

Wye Oak, Mercury Rev, The Messthetics, Squarepusher (DJ set), Garbage, Phoebe Bridgers, and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem (DJ set) were scheduled to perform over the festival’s two days at Brooklyn Steel.

Along with guest appearances from Kanye West (during Kid Cudi’s set) and A$AP Rocky (during Tame Impala’s set), Saturday of weekend two at Coachella included a surprise appearance from DMX.

Will more guests show up? Will Kanye make an appearance during the actual festival? Will the crowd wait for Kacey Musgraves to say fuckin’ yee?
