Little Tornadoes, which includes Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier and Tortoise’s John Herndon, describe their sound as “psychedelic country” but the album’s single, “Chérie la Mouche,” is tres French: swoony, swaggery and a little space age bachelor pad-y.

The 2017 edition of Desert Daze happens October 12 – 15 at The Institute of Mentalphysics in Joshua Tree, CA.

Folsky solo artist Tara Jane O’Neil will release her new self-titled album on April 21 via Gnomesong Records. In addition to dates with Tortoise, she’ll be on tour with Califone and Mirah.

The Mexico City festival, which takes place right before SXSW, this year features The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tortoise, Psychic TV, Porches, Moon Duo, Holy Wave, Circuit des Yeux, and lots more.

Knoxville, TN’s unique Big Ears Festival returns March 23-26, and today the fest is revealing new additions to the lineup. Wilco were already announced, but also frontman Jeff Tweedy will do an improv set with Chikamorachi (aka Chris Corsano and Darin Gray)…
