Taxstone arrested in relation to T.I. Irving Plaza shooting

Last year, a shooting at Irving Plaza during a T.I. show resulted in the death of New York rapper Troy Ave‘s bodyguard Ronald McPhatter, and the injury of three people (including Troy). Troy was indicted for attempted murder after the incident, and he later sued Irving Plaza for allowing a gun into their venue. The following month, two attendees of the show also sued the venue for being trampled.

Now, Daryl Campbell (aka Taxstone of the hip hop podcast Tax Season) was arrested today in relation to the shooting. NBC 4 New York reported that sources said Campbell was “wanted on a federal warrant charging him with being a felon in possession of firearm and was also being sought by the NYPD in relation to the Irving Plaza shooting.” New York Daily News adds that he’s slated to appear in a federal court on Tuesday. “We look forward to reading the complaint from the government,” his defense attorney Ken Montomgery said.
