‘Tax Season’ podcast host and hip hop personality Taxstone (aka Daryl Campbell) was arrested earlier this week in relation to the shooting at Irving Plaza during a T.I. show last year. He appeared in a federal court on Tuesday (1/17) and was granted a $500,000 bond by a magistrate judge, but Reuters reports that U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan reversed that decision on Wednesday and revoked Campbell’s bail. The article states that Kaplan called Campbell “a danger to the community in light of the witness and DNA belonging to him found on a gun that authorities say was used in the shooting.”

Kaplan was also quoted saying “The evidence is clear and convincing that detention is appropriate.” Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten argued that more evidence, including a witness, would prove Campbell shot Ronald McPhatter (Troy Ave’s bodyguard, who was killed during the shooting). Campbell’s defense lawyer Kenneth Montgomery suggested that is a “conclusatory narrative” and that the evidence shows Campbell was “a victim and not the initiator of the event.”
