Ted Leo, Craig Finn, Brian Fallon & more playing Joe Strummer tribute in Asbury Park this weekend

The late, great Joe Strummer would’ve been 65 on August 21 and to celebrate his memory, Jesse Malin is throwing a benefit concert at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony Stummerstage this Saturday (8/19). Jesse is officially headlining “Summer StrummerJam 2017” but the real draw is an all-star birthday tribute set featuring Craig Finn (Hold Steady), Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), Ted Leo, Patrick Stickles (Titus Andronicus), Richard Barone (The Bongos), Daniel Rey (The Dictators), and more.

Tickets are on sale and proceeds benefit the Joe Strummer Foundation and Music & Memory, “A non-profit organization that brings personalized music into the lives of the elderly or infirmed through digital music technology, vastly improving quality of life.” Check out the full lineup of “Summer StrummerJam 2017” below.

Joe Strummer died in December, 2002 at age 50. We miss ya, Joe.
