TEEN released new LP 'Love Yes,' share '80s-inspired video for "Free Time"

Teen Free Time

TEEN‘s new album, Love Yes, is out today via Carpark. As I wrote before, they have found the sweet spot between their arty, proggy first album and the nu-R&B of their second, making for by far their best record yet. You can stream the whole thing via Spotify below. The band have also just shared a video for “Free Time” which literally looks like it could’ve been found on an old VHS tape from 1981. Becca Kauffman from Ava Luna directed the video (dances in it too) and says this about its very specific inspirations:

“Free Time” was inspired by the 1980’s public access television performances of R. Stevie Moore, the post-punk choreographer Michael Clark‘s videodance collaborations with his musical contemporaries, and the barebones production quality and interpretive dance accompaniment to Sid Harvey Fisher‘s Astrology Songs.

You may remember Harvey Sid Fisher performed Astrology Songs at BV’s 2014 SXSW showcase, and Michael Clarke collaborated with The Fall for I Am Curious Orange. You can watch TEEN’s “Free Time” video below.

The band celebrated Love Yes with a Valentine’s Day show at Union Pool (did you go to that?) and are currently in Louisville, KY on tour. Current tour dates are listed below.
