The 2018 Village Halloween Parade in pictures

NYC’s annual Halloween spectacle, the Village Halloween Parade, returned for its 45th edition on Wednesday (10/31) night. Security was tight after last Halloween’s bike path attack, but thousands of costumed revelers came out to march along 6th Ave and pack the sidewalks behind the barricades. 2018’s theme, “I AM a Robot,” brought lots of robot and android-inspired costumes, but the biggest trend of the night was politics, with tons of people dressing up as Donald Trump, his wife Melania, Brett Kavanaugh, Vladimir Putin, and other political figures. Many carried signs urging people to vote in next week’s midterm elections, as well. Otherwise, costumes ranged from pop culture-inspired to sexy to scary to meme-referencing – like a great “BBQ Becky” trio. A group of four people dressed as issues of the Village Voice (RIP). Check out pictures of all that and more in the gallery above, and stay tuned for a second set of Halloween Parade pictures too find a second set of Halloween Parade pictures HERE.
