The Black Madonna "furious" over learning Amazon is presenting Intersect Festival
UPDATE: Amazon Web Services “released” The Black Madonna from her “contractual obligation” to Intersect
Amazon Web Services-presented Las Vegas music festival Intersect just added artists to the lineup of its inaugural edition, which happens in December. One of those artists is musician, producer and DJ The Black Madonna, who joins Kacey Musgraves, Beck, Foo Fighters, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals, and others. However, as Pitchfork points out, The Black Madonna took to social media to say she wasn’t aware that Amazon was involved in presenting the festival, and she’s “furious.” “What the fuck is this Amazon shit?,” she writes. “I absolutely didn’t agree to this. Oh hell no.” She continues that their name was “on NONE of the offers or paperwork.”

Yeah. Uh. Would have been cool if any of us knew we were playing for them. Free scoop.

I absolutely denounce it and to reiterate, I have no idea what’s going on here. I have no idea what the fuck is going on but I’m about to find the fuck out and I suggest that everyone else do the same.

“If you were shocked I’d play for Amazon, well that makes two of us,” she concludes. “Please be patient and while I burn some bridges. Updates soon.”
