The Breeders joined Courtney Barnett on stage at Biggest Weekend (watch)
Courtney Barnett and The Breeders both played the Belfast edition of BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend on Friday (5/25), which continues through Monday across four UK cities. Courtney has been pals with Kim and Kelley Deal for a few years; Kim and Courtney appeared on The Talkhouse’s podcast together in 2015, and each appeared on the other’s most recent album, with Courtney guesting on The Breeders’ “Howl at the Summit” and the Deal sisters adding backing vocals to “Nameless, Faceless” and “Crippling Self-Doubt and a General Lack of Confidence” from Tell Me How You Really Feel. Kim and Kelley were all smiles as they recreated their album appearance live at Courtney’s Biggest Weekend set on Friday, and you can watch it below.
The Breeders and Courtney Barnett both have upcoming NYC shows at Prospect Park for BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival. The Breeders’ is a free one with Speedy Ortiz on August 11, while Courtney’s is one of the ticketed benefit shows (and a very cool triple bill with Julien Baker and Vagabon) on July 25. Tickets are on sale, and we’re also giving away a pair.
