The Bronx @ Brooklyn Bazaar (pics)
Punk n’ rollers The Bronx released their fifth album, V, last month via ATO, and their tour with Epitaph-signed garage punks Plague Vendor and ‘68 hit Brooklyn Bazaar on Sunday (10/8). The Bronx singer Matt Caughthran had the crowd excited and moving before the first notes rang out, and never let up. He sent several songs roaming the crowd, screaming in the darkness, mic cord whipping through the pit behind him. He constantly encouraged the crowd to up their energy, dance harder, and dive off the stage. When a big guy slid across the beer and sweat soaked stage, taking out the drum kit and breaking a stand, Matt made him hold a drum for the rest of the show. The dude did not seem to mind. Chaos reigned until the end of their set, with multiple people sailing through the air simultaneously, often over Matt while he was on top of the crowd. The Bronx still play with the fire and fury they had when they came out in 2002.
