The Courtneys on tour, playing free Rough Trade show before opening for Tegan & Sara at Hammerstein (dates, streams)

Vancouver trio The Courtneys released their self titled debut last year. Reminiscent of jangly indie rock like The Blake Babies or the classic Flying Nun sound, the record was one of 2013’s unheralded gems and you can stream a few songs from it below.
The Courtneys just started their North American tour, which includes a short run opening for Tegan & Sara — like in NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom on June 24. The Hammerstein show is sold-out but if you’d still like to catch The Courtneys, they’re playing a free show at Rough Trade the day before (June 23). Doors at 6:30 PM for the Rough Trade show with music starting at 7:30 PM.
