The Cult celebrating 'Sonic Temple' 30th anniversary with reissue & tour

The Cult‘s 1989 album Sonic Temple was the band’s big U.S. breakthrough, taking the onetime goths fully into straight-up muscular hard rock with singles like “Fire Woman” and “Sweet Soul Sister.” (They were already mostly there thanks to 1987’s Rick Rubin-produced Electric.) The album, which was out of print for over 20 years, just got a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue, as well as a deluxe box set with a bonus live album, a cassette of demos, reproductions of backstage passes and more. The band are also taking Sonic Temple on tour and they’ve announced Northeast dates in December, including shows at Montclair, NJ’s Wellmont Theatre on 12/6, Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre on 12/7 and Long Island’s The Paramount on 12/9. Tickets for those shows are on artist presale now (password: SONICTEMPLE) and go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 27 at 10 AM.
