The Decemberists announce 20th anniversary tour w/ Fruit Bats
The Decemberists released their best album in years, I’ll Be Your Girl, in 2018, but their discography stretches back to their 2001 EP, Five Songs. They formed a year earlier, in 2000, and now they’re celebrating 20 years as a band with a summer tour. They’re promising to play “songs from every corner of the discography,” and bringing along Fruit Bats as support.
The tour kicks off in Missoula, MT on July 28, and hits Seattle, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, NYC, and more before wrapping up in Nashville on August 22. The NYC date happens on August 20 at SummerStage in Central Park, and tickets for that show, and the whole tour, go on general sale Friday 2/14 at 10 AM local time, with various presales beginning today (2/11) at noon local time. The Decemberists last played SummerStage in 2007 with Grizzly Bear and Land of Talk.
