The Flatmates touring around NYC Popfest, playing WFMU Record Fair (dates & streams)

Flatmates

Veteran UK indiepop band The Flatmates will be playing NYC Popfest this weekend, hitting Friday (5/30) at Knitting Factory with Bart & Friends, The Haywains, and the reunited My Favorite. Tickets are still available, and today (5/28) is the last day to buy a Popfest pass which gets you into all events.

Making the most of their visit, The Flatmates are playing a few East Coast shows around Popfest. The band played DC last night, Boston tonight (with Sweden’s The Garlands, another Popfest band) and the dates also include their performance at the WFMU Record Fair on Sunday (5/31). All are listed below.

Though the band never released a proper album during their original ’80s run, they did release a string of great powerpop singles (not unlike The Primitives), including “I Could Be in Heaven,” “Happy All the Time” and “Shimmer” all of which you can listen to below. The band reformed in 2013 and released a brand new single “You Held My Heart” back in August. You can stream that below too, and you may recognize cover art star, Marnie the Dog (who hosted our RBSS show last month).

All dates are listed, along with streams, below…
