The Flesh Eaters wrapped up their tour at Bowery Ballroom w/ Porcupine (pics, setlist)

The Flesh Eaters, the L.A. punk supergroup featuring X’s John Doe and DJ Bonebrake, plus Dave Alvin & Bill Bateman of The Blasters, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, and and frontman/poet Chris D wrapped up their North American tour on Sunday night in NYC. They’ve been on the road supporting I Used to Be Pretty, their first album in 35 years, and at Bowery Ballroom on Sunday, frontman Chris D said the show might be the last for the band, ever. Only time will tell, but The Flesh Eaters were in fine form at Bowery, with Chris D’s wail sounding great as ever, backed by a killer band that also included Julie Christensen on backing vocals. In addition to their own songs, the set was peppered with covers, including The Gun Club’s “She’s Like Heroin to Me” which started their encore. Check out the setlist below.

Opening the night was Minneapolis band Porcupine which currently includes former Husker Du bassist Greg Norton. Pictures of their set and the whole night are in the gallery above.

John Doe and DJ Bonebrake will be on the road with X later this year.
