The Flex and Red Death have new releases, on tour together

UK hardcore crushers The Flex are currently back in the US, on tour with DC’s Red Death (mem Coke Bust). That tour began when both bands played Damaged City Fest in DC earlier this month, and it continues through late May.
The Flex and Red Death will make their way to NYC for a show on May 16 at the Acheron, which includes local support from NYC Headhunters (mem Vanity). Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
Last month, The Flex followed their 2014 debut LP, Wild Stabs In The Dark, with the Don’t Bother With The Outside World EP on Lockin’ Out Records. That’s the cover art above (by Tin Savage). It’s pissed off, has nothing fancy thrown in (besides the tiniest guitar solo), and is rarely not at breakneck speed. Stream it in full below.
Meanwhile, Red Death just followed last year’s demo this week with their debut LP, Permanent Exile, on Grave Mistake. They’ve got some Discharge, some Corrosion of Conformity, and other ’80s-era punk/metal bands in their sound, and “Alleviate” (the only song over two minutes) even brings in some Neurosis-y noise metal. Their riffs crush, their vocals sound genuinely intimidating, and those guitar solos shred. Check this one out in full below, too.
