The Gateway got evicted, but say “there is still hope”
Two-floor Bushwick DIY venue The Gateway (which took over the St. Lucian Paradise bar’s space) has been hosting shows for a few years now — perhaps you’ve been there for Jeff Rosenstock, Young Jesus, Xeno & Oaklander, Spill, Nervous Dater, Personal Space, Martin Bisi, Shilpa Ray, or another show. Unfortunately, though, the venue is in trouble. They wrote last night (5/16):
THE GATEWAY IS CLOSED TONIGHT AND THROUGH THE WEEKEND. WE GOT EVICTED. THERE IS STILL HOPE.
We enjoyed hosting some of the biggest most diverse parties and shows in Brooklyn. You guys made us great, many thanks for the amazing memories.
Any help relocating shows is much appreciated.
Let’s see what we can do to get back and moving. Will keep you posted. Thank you to everyone for your support and positive vibes.
You can see the schedule of upcoming shows that were to have happened at The Gateway (and, as mentioned above, may move to new venues) here.
