The Hold Steady covered Thin Lizzy with Ted Leo at BK Bowl night 1 (pics, video)

The Hold Steady began their third annual ‘Massive Nights’ holiday run at NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl last night (11/28), and this one had Ted Leo opening with a solo set. As promised, THS played Stay Positive in full for its 10th anniversary, as well as its three bonus tracks, and then did 14 more songs from all over their career. During the encore, they brought out Ted Leo to cover Thin Lizzy‘s “Cowboy Song” with them. As you’d probably expect from that crew covering that song, it was a very fun dose of bar rock goodness. Watch video of that cover and see the full setlist below. Pictures are in the gallery above.

The run continues tonight (11/29) with Jeff Rosenstock opening with a solo set. Tickets are still available. They also play Friday (11/30) and Saturday (12/1) with TBA openers. Advance tickets for those are sold out but a limited amount of tickets will be available at doors.
