The Hold Steady are releasing a new album, Thrashing Thru The Passion, due out August 16 via Frenchkiss, and its title was taken from new single “You Did Good Kid.” Craig Finn says it’s “the first song we worked on for this session, and remains a favorite.” “It went though a few iterations before we came to this arrangement,” he continues, “and I’m really psyched on it. It feels great to play live.”

The Hold Steady are also playing shows, including “Constructive Summer” dates in Seattle in August, and their annual Massive Nights holiday run at NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 4, 5, 6, and 7 (tickets).
