The Howlin' Brothers released a Brendan Benson-produced album (watch the video for "Night And Day"), touring
Old-timey Nashville trio The Howlin’ Brothers may be a new band (despite sounding like an old one), but they’ve already got two albums out, 2013’s Howl and this year’s Trouble, both produced by The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson (who we caught them opening for in 2012). With a sound that’s parts bluegrass, blues, country and folk, it’s good stuff especially if you’re into the more “authentic” sounds of those genres than some of today’s pop-Americana artists are making. The trio have now made a video for one of the new album’s tracks, “Night And Day,” which was directed by Jesse Hamm and sees the band performing on the Isis Music Hall stage in Asheville, NC. That video makes its premiere in this post and can be watched below.
The Howlin’ Brothers also have multiple tour dates coming up, including a stop in NYC for the Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival in the parking lot behind City Winery, which they play on July 1. Like all shows in that series, this one is free, all ages, and runs from 5 to 7:30 PM.
