The Internet share new single "Roll (Burbank Funk)," playing festivals

The Internet

The Internet have been fairly quiet on the release front since their 2015 LP Ego Death, but their individual members have been very active; just in 2017 alone, Syd released her great solo debut Fin, Matt Martians put out his own solo debut The Drum Chord Theory, and Steve Lacy shared his first solo EP Steve Lacy’s Demo. Now, it seems the band has regrouped, and they’ve just shared a brand new single and video for “Roll (Burbank Funk),” which is set to appear on their as-of-yet-untitled upcoming new album. The song is appropriately funky, falling in line with much of the group’s past work, and the retro-tinged video features brief cameos from Mac DeMarco, Thundercat, and fellow former Odd Future members Tyler, The Creator and Taco. You can watch the full video, and revisit “Girl” from Ego Death, below.

The Internet will be playing several shows and festivals this summer, including Brooklyn’s Afropunk, San Francisco’s Outside Lands, LA’s FYF Fest, and Spain’s Primavera Sound. All dates are listed below.
