The Lemon Twigs kicked off their tour on Thursday night (6/1) at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg. It was a packed house (if not sold out) with a lot of whooping and hollering fans, and The Lemon Twigs a typically high-energy show with Brian and Michael D’Addario bouncing all over stage. In addition to favorites from last year’s Do Hollywood, they played a couple songs off of a new EP, Brothers of Destruction, that’s due out later this year, and also worked in three covers: Jonathan Richman’s “You Can’t Talk to the Dude,” Todd Rundgren’s “Couldn’t I Just Tell You” (which they played WITH Todd at Coachella) and John Prine’s “Fish and Whistle.” They finished the night with Michael’s “Queen of My School” which they told the crowd they’d just finished recording with eyes on LP#2.

Opening the show was Simon Doom, led by former Amazing Baby guitarist Simon O’Connor. Pictures from the whole show are in the gallery above.
