The Lemon Twigs celebrated the release of their new concept album (which they wrote as a musical), Go To School, at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on Thursday night (8/23). Playing up the LP’s theme, they had a school bus parked outside of Baby’s with a Lemon Twigs banner emblazoned on it, which was used as a pop-up shop where you could by the new album and some merch exclusive to this show.

The Lemon Twigs debuted Go To School, which tells the tale of a chimpanzee raised by human parents as a real boy, playing it back-to-front with songs from their previous records bookending the show. It was also the U.S. debut of their new lineup which, in addition to main members Brian and Michael D’Addario, now includes bassist Daryl Johns, keyboardist Tommaso Taddonio, and full time drummer Andrews Valbuena.

You can check out pictures, including ones of openers Purr (fka Jack and Eliza) in the gallery above and check The Lemon Twigs setlist, and stream Go to School, below.

The Lemon Twigs will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 4 and their upcoming tour includes two nights at Music Hall of Williamsburg.
