The Make-Up playing East Coast shows ahead of European festivals (Brooklyn w/ Tyvek & more)

Ian Svenonius’ late-’90s “Gospel Yeh-Yeh” band The Make-Up are getting back together to play Primavera Sound and a few other European festival in late spring. Ahead of those they’ll play a few U.S. shows on the East Coast, including Brooklyn’s The Bell House on May 20 with Tyvek and Permanent Waves (new group from Christina Billotte of Slant 6, Autoclave, Quix*o*tic, Casual Dots). Tickets for the Bell House show go on sale Wednesday, March 22 at noon.

The line-up for this reunion is: Ian Svenonius on vocals, Michelle Mae on bass, James Canty on guitar/keyboard, and Mark Cisneros on drums. Their last NYC-area show was at ATP NY in 2012. Other dates include Richmond, VA and Washington, DC. All dates are listed, along with streams of a few Make-Up albums, below.
