The Meadows 2017 Sunday pics (RHCP, Nas, Ghostface Killah, more)

The Meadows wrapped up its 2017 edition on Sunday (9/17) at Citi Field in Queens. We posted about Red Hot Chili Pepper’s headlining set, as well as sets earlier in the day from Broken Social Scene and Action Bronson, both of whom just announced NYC shows. Sunday also had sets from Ghostface Killah, Nas, Weezer, Sleigh Bells, and more.

NY Daily News called Nas’s set one of the best of the weekend:

Nasty Nas came to the area and certainly caused mass hysteria as he treated his audience to most of the hits off his masterful debut album “Illmatic.” The Queens rapper ceremoniously began his set with “N.Y. State of Mind,” before following it up with “Illmatic” gems “Life’s a B—h,” “The World is Yours,” “It Ain’t Hard to Tell,” “Represent” and “Memory Lane.” He also covered Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones Part II” in a fitting homage to late rapper Prodigy in his home borough. The showing from the skillful-as-ever Nas was the perfect penultimate main stage closing set at a festival that provided mind-blowing rap, much of it from New York City legends, all weekend.
