The Memories
A trio of lo-fi, cassette-loving acts — Portland, OR’s The Memories, Chicago’s The Lemons and Lexington, KY’s Street Gnar — are currently on tour together. All three acts have a similar sound (catchy bubblegum melodies, minimal accompaniment, and even less production value), and affiliations with Burger Records. You can stream releases from all three acts below.
That tour hits NYC on Wednesday (5/28) at Death by Audio. $8 at the door. The Memories have more dates — some with just The Lemons, some with Tomorrows Tulips — and all are listed below.
Tomorrows Tulips
Speaking of, Tomorrows Tulips will be in NYC next week for a few shows as part of their current tour: The Studio at Webster Hall on June 2 with Beechwood; Glasslands on June 3 with Gym Shorts and Habibi; and Cake Shop on June 4 with Roya and Las Rosas. Tomorrows Tulips’ most recent album is last year’s quite good Experimental Jelly (on Burger) which if you haven’t heard, you can stream a track below.
