The Messthetics (1/2 Fugazi) announce new LP, touring - listen to "Better Wings"
The Messthetics, the instrumental trio made up of Fugazi’s rhythm section (Brendan Canty and Joe Lally) and experimental/jazz guitarist Anthony Pirog, will release their second album, Anthropocosmic Nest, on September 6 via Dischord. The band recorded it in their rehearsal space throughout 2019 and you can listen to the album’s propulsive, soaring, opening track, “Better Wings,” below.
You can catch The Messthetics on tour, starting tonight (7/10) in Philadelphia, and then they’ll hit the NYC-area for shows at Jersey City’s WFMU Monty Hall on Thursday (7/11) with The Royal Arctic Institute and Brooklyn’s Union Pool on Friday (7/12) with Lulu Lewis. Tickets for both those shows are still available.
The band also have September dates that kick off at the 2019 Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, NC. All tour dates are listed below.
