The Molochs released new LP (listen), touring after SXSW, playing 4-show NYC residency w/ Cosmonauts

California’s The Molochs released America’s Velvet Glory back in January, a terrific collection of ’60s-ish psych pop with a whiff of new wave that recalls, more than anything, the heyday of the LA ’80s Paisley Underground scene (Dream Syndicate, Three O’Clock, Bangles). While garage-y bands such as this are in no short supply, The Molochs do it much better than most, with spot-on production and, most importantly, great songs. You can listen to the whole album below.

The Molochs will be in Austin for SXSW and will tour East afterwards, including a four-night NYC residency with fellow Californians (and Burger Records staples) Cosmonauts: Union Pool on March 25 and Berlin on March 27 – 29. No openers have been announced for Union Pool, but the Berlin shows look like this:

3/27: Breanna Barbara, Emotional, Pale Joyride
3/28: Rips, Brian Hill & the Nohh Stars
3:29: Dances, The Wants, Plates Of Cake

Tickets for all four NYC residency shows are on sale now. All Molochs tour dates are listed, along with a stream of Cosmonauts’ 2016 album A-OK!, below.
