The Movielife have been reunited since last year, and now they’re in it for the long haul. Not content to just play their old tunes live, they released their first song since 2003’s Forty Hour Train Back to Penn. It’s called “Future Feeling (Afraid of Drugs),” and it’s not miles away from some of the stuff on that album, but definitely don’t expect a “Faces Or Kneecaps” and certainly not a “Self-Destruct.” It’s one of the band’s slower songs, with more attention paid to atmosphere and melody than starting a mosh pit. It’s definitely a good one though, and cool to hear they’ve still got it all these years later. Listen below.

The band begin their next run of dates in NYC on Thursday (3/24) at Webster Hall with their old LI pals Crime In Stereo, newer LIHC band Incendiary, and Boston screamo revivalists Aviator. The show is on the early side, with Aviator kicking things off at 7 PM and The Movielife taking the stage at 9:15. Tickets for that show are still available.

All dates (including Philly with The Early November) are listed, with set times and flyer for the NYC show, below.
