The National & Courtney Barnett played first of 2 Prospect Park shows (pics, setlist)
The National are on tour now supporting their great new album I Am Easy To Find, and they’re currently on a run with Courtney Barnett which hit Prospect Park for a BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show last night (6/12). Both The National and Courtney have played this venue as headliners before, so, needless to say, this was a pretty incredible double bill to see. Courtney, who was supporting last year’s excellent Tell Me How You Really Feel, was awesome as always, and The National followed with a set that leaned heavily on the new album and included some of the album’s guest vocalists: Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), Mina Tindle, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. They also played tons of older faves like “The Geese of Beverly Road,” “Fake Empire,” “Terrible Love,” “Don’t Swallow the Cap,” “Graceless,” “I Need My Girl,” “This Is The Last Time,” and “Mr. November.” Pictures are in the gallery above and The National’s setlist and a couple videos are below.
The National and Courtney do it again at Prospect Park tonight (6/13), and tickets are still available. The tour continues at Bonnaroo this weekend.
