The Pains of Being Pure at Heart‘s new album, Days of Abandon, is out next month on Yebo Music and this week they released a video for single “Simple and Sure.” Set at a dinner party (singer Kip Berman’s the butler), it takes aim at our ADD culture, animated GIFs in particular. Says Kip:

I’m taken aback at how many online outlets now reduce their content to a series of GIFs, assuming a minute long video or a single paragraph of text to be too burdensome. We’re as much prisoners of our need for constant distraction and instant sensation as the trapped guests at the dinner party.

You can watch the “Simple and Sure” video below.

After a tour around SXSW, The Pains are back home in Brooklyn and play Rough Trade on Friday (3/28). That show is sold out but we’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away. Details below.

And if you just can’t make Friday’s show, TPOBPAH will play Bowery Ballroom on May 22 as part of their tour with Fear of Men. Tickets are still available.

And speaking of, Fear of Men made a video for their single “Luna” and you can watch that below.
