The Posies played acoustic @ City Winery (pics, setlist)

The Posies, who are celebrating 30 years of chiming power pop and gorgeous harmonies, are currently on an acoustic tour which hit NYC’s City Winery on January 25. Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow treated the crowd to the many Posies favorites, including “Flavor of the Month,” “Apology,” “Solar Sister,” and more. They also threw in a cover of The Rutles’ “Let’s Be Natural,” and two from Big Star (who they played as part of), before closing the night with their song “Grant Hart” in tribute to the Husker Du drummer who died last year. Pictures from the City Winery show are in the gallery above and setlist is below.

The band are reissuing their three ’90s Geffen albums on vinyl and CD this year, and Jon and Ken told the crowd that they were planning a Frosting on the Beater 25th Anniversary tour for later this year. Stay tuned for details on that.
